This washing machine broke after about 14 months of having it. Water stopped draining. Had a plumber come out and repair. Said these are faulty machines. It broke again 1 week later. Just stops draining the water. The design to drain the unit is so poor, it water came shooting out of it and you can™€™t fit a bucket underneath. Would not recommend to anyone.

It never worked great. Then two years after purchase and after a $125 service call I was told the main board needed to be replaced. In retrospect it probably started malfunctioning within the year warrantee. But no way to prove that. Guess I should have gotten the extended warrantee. I will never buy this brand again and will be extremely vocal about my dissatisfaction with this brand when speaking to others.

As a newly married couple, this was our first ever washer/dryer purchase, and we were excited to invest in what we thought was a high tech, modern machine from GE. Unfortunately, our experience has been disappointing. We have only owned the GE Profile PFW870SPVRS for 1 year and 6 months, and with just a two-person household, the control board has already failed. For a machine at this price point, I find it completely unacceptable to have such a major component fail after such a short amount of time. We purchased this machine expecting quality, reliability, and the modern technology that was advertised. Instead, we are now facing calling a technician & major repair far sooner than we ever anticipated. What concerns me most is that even after this gets repaired, I no longer have confidence that this problem won't happen again and again. If a major electronic component can fail after only a year and a half, what assurance do we have that the replacement will last? This model deserves to have a 3 year warranty if it's going to give out due to technology issues!

This is the second unit I have. The first one the pressure regulator went out the day after install. Best Buy brought out a new one. A few day later the new one is making the same noise. Was told that the water pressure was too high so I called a plumber and I am only getting 60PSI to the water line. They also notice that the bearing are screaming. I was told that is normal and that GE acknowledge all this issues. Will they fix it.. no.. they want to give you the run around and send out more contractors who just tell you it okay! DONT WASTE UR MONEY OR TIME FOR THIS UNIT!! Dryer suck too!! They don™€™t dry the clothes. Comes out damp and they said it normal. We had the dryer line clean

The washer failed just four months after the extended three-year warranty expired. After being without a washer for an entire month, the technician was still unable to repair it. I was then quoted nearly $700 for parts and labor, at which point I gave up and purchased a new washer instead. Based on this experience, I will never buy another GE product again.

Defective Since Day 1 - Still Unresolved

I regret purchasing this washing machine. It has had ongoing problems since we bought it and, nearly a year later, the issues are still not resolved despite multiple repair attempts and waiting on parts. The washer is extremely loud, shakes excessively, sometimes fails to drain, leaves clothes soaking wet, and often requires us to wash loads again because of odors, detergent residue, and bleach stains. It has damaged our towels, pillowcases, my white spa robe, my husband's T-shirts, and even my brand-new Wayfair sheets. The most disappointing part has been the customer service. I feel like GE has continued to give us the runaround instead of providing a permanent resolution. We have spent nearly a year waiting, scheduling service appointments, and dealing with repeated repairs while continuing to lose clothing, household items, time, and money. I have cooperated with every request, provided videos, photos, and documentation, yet I am still waiting for a permanent resolution. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product.

I am absolutely impressed with this new machine. I had been battling my 2002 Maytag front-load washer recently, after years of reliable service. Was at point of 'dreading' doing laundry, and dealing with error codes... WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! I am so glad I made to the decision to upgrade to this unit, including the 15" pedestal that makes it even easier to load/unload. After extensive online research of machines, reviews, and reliability -- I found a very competitive price. It's now an actual pleasure to do laundry -- the washer and dryer even let me know with phone notifications when loads are done. Only regret is that I didn't get these great machines sooner. Washer started leaking after a year. Now at two years control panel went out.Definitely the loudest machine I have ever owned. Like a jet engine plane going off in your house shakes horribly making it unbalanced often. Do not recommend to anyone. Spent extra money to get the profile for longevity. My last Kenmore washer lasted 20 years!!! This one two. It turns Water on and off so hard it hammers the lines. Just horrible all over. Will never purchase another GE appliance.

I love this machine, so far. I've only had it for 5 weeks and I'm still learning it. For basic everyday cycles, it's wonderful. I love that I can adjust some cycles' water temp to "Extra Hot" for those stinky loads that need it. The drum holds a large load of jeans with no off-balancing. I'm looking forward to trying the Steam Cycles. And the Venting cycle, after a day of washing, is great to keep odors/mold occurring in the drum. OH! The automatic detergent distribution feature is something I wasn't used to but I'm finding it distributes the proper amount for load sizes AND I'm not over filling the detergent cup or using as much soap, either!

We purchased this washing machine from Lowe™€™s in March of this year and paid extra for both delivery and installation. It™€™s already leaking like crazy from underneath the machine. We went back to Lowe™€™s since we also purchased the Lowe™€™s Protection Plan, but they told us we had to go through GE first because the washer is covered under GE™€™s manufacturer™€™s warranty for the first 12 months. What I don™€™t understand is why, when I try to schedule a service appointment through GE, I™€™m being told I have to pay for it. If the washer is still under the GE warranty and I also purchased the Lowe™€™s Protection Plan, why am I being charged for a repair? This has been the worst purchase ever, especially considering how expensive this washing machine was.

I'd had my prior set of Frigidaire washer and dryer for almost 15 years and gave those away because they still worked! I purchased this unit on 12/10/2025 and have had issues with the unit leaking since we purchased it. Bodewell which is the GE service team has been out 5 times and cannot fix the unit. They will not replace the unit because they said my warranty states that they are only obligated to continue to try to fix it. The unit leaked and damaged my floor. We have not been able to use the unit since purchasing it 6 months ago. It has been 6 months of no washing machine with a household of 7 and GE could care less about making this right and replacing the unit or refunding the amount of the unit so we can buy another washing machine. I should have bought another LG washing machine but couldn™€™t because the Lowes was sold out of them. Now I know why all of the LG washing machines were sold out and the GE machines were not. We are spending a fortune at the laundromat when we have a brand new GE washing machine sitting unusable in our home. Terrible experience.

What a joke this set is. Bought them March 21, 2026. May 16th the mother board went out, upon delivery the dryer knob and light didn™€™t align. Called GE for the warranty, they sent out the tech, no parts available until 6/17. I bought them from Home Depot, thy did nothing to help. GE told HD we had to wait for the part. After almost 2 weeks of going back and forth with HD and GE we called our local appliance store and they had the $204 part that we paid for out of pocket and repaired our self. After less than 2 years the door sensor is failing. I was offered an extended warranty for 44% of the cost of the washing machine. Unbelievable.

I love the way you can do load after load of washers and not worry about putting laundry detergent in every time this makes it easier and also helps me to decide how much soap should be put in on that particular load so I don't overload the washer with too much soap the washer seems to clean very well and operate quietly

Ability to handle large loads is why I selected this washer. I have found it to be very efficient so far. No odor issues yet but I not had long. I do like the ability to vent the inside to help prevent mold or slime buildup. Looks gorgeous in my laundry room!

So far the washer has been great, it is much bigger than my previous washer which has been amazing. I love that it has the vents to dry out the washer to prevent odors and mold/mildew within the gasket.

This washer is great! It is able to handle a large capacity of laundry. It is efficient and I like how it reminds you after each wash to use the venting system. You do not need to vent after each wash, just when done with the laundry for the day. The venting system removes any odor that other front loaders have. I especially like the technology of the smart dispense for the laundry detergent. It takes out the guessing of how much soap to use. I really like how it lets you know laundry is almost done and when it is done. I am happy with this purchase.

Horrible washer. I have already dumped hundreds into it for part that have broke or malfunctioned. For the price and it being less than 2 years old, it should not be having this many issues. I do NOT want keep dumping money into it.

Broken down within the 1st 16 months

Just after a year (when the warranty had expired), the central control unit failed and had to be replaced. Now, 3 years later, it stopped working again. From watching YouTube videos, it appears this brand is notorious for breaking down. Not willing to spend another $149 (service call plus reading of the error codes), we are abandoning the unit and purchasing a different washer. I would not recommend this unit.

Do your Research, then Run Away

Don't fall for it. It's a nice looking unit, with lots of capacity, but it's built to break. Look up problems with control board, inverter board, and of all things door lock. We bought this unit in Nov, 2024, and it was dead by Mar, 2026. And GE repair is all its own story. Plenty of people report waiting *months* to get their appliance repaired. When we called, they wouldn't even come out to look at it for a week. Then time to get parts. Then wait to reschedule a return. And the problem parts are expensive. It was about half to cost to repair, with all the waiting, as to buy new. So to get out of our problem as quick as possible, we bought a new one so we didn't also have to buy a matching dryer as we require stacking. But this is the last time. I fully expect it to break some time in the next 18 months, and I will not reward GE for making a cheap product again. I will fork up the money and get a Speed Queen.

Not worth the money. I love the large capacity of this washer and the ultra fresh vent is awesome, however there is a balance issue with this washer. Every time I do a load of laundry, my whole house shakes! We have leveled the washer and can™€™t figure it out. We have even reduced the load size several times and it still shakes the whole house. On top of that I have had many issues with the smart dispenser drawer and mold. It™€™s impossible to open the drawer itself up fully and I™€™m afraid to if I™€™m being honest as if it breaks I will not be able to use my washer at all. Though the fact that there is a mold issue in the drawer I probably shouldn™€™t use it anyway. I have cleaned the drawer and the place it slides into several times and only 2 or 3 days later there is mold again! I was so excited for this machine and have been nothing but let down by it. The dryer isn™€™t much better as the fins inside the drum like to eat coins and dryer sheets! My dryer is sooo loud because I can not get the coins out of the fins and have stopped using dryer sheets after the first time I saw that one of the fins had attempted to eat a dryer sheet! So now I have a washer that puts mold into my laundry and a dryer that is loud from lost coins I can not remove and is a fire hazard if I use dryer sheets! Do better GE!!!!!!

This is the worst washer I™€™ve ever purchased, I™€™ve owned it about two years, the drum is constantly uneven and spins for extensive amounts of time, it™€™s loud. Now the door locks and unlocks multiple times during a cycle, it™€™s already been fixed once thi month, it™€™s happening again and Drummond draining water.

I™€™m thoroughly enjoying not adding detergent with every single load. The reserve is brilliant and works most effectively and efficiently. I highly recommend this user friendly washing machine. So Far So Good

Bought the set to replace our 16 year old Whirlpool Duet set. Washer is a little noisier when the water flows in and during the spin cycle. We were also experiencing significant water hammer effect. I installed two water hammer arrestors at the water connections and can barely hear it now. Like others said, the fresh vent system isn™€™t worth engaging. Like with the whirlpool set, we leave the door and dispenser tray open. All these things are minor for us. We noticed a significant improvement in clothes cleanliness and the large capacity reduces the number of loads. We love the WiFi connection to the SmartHQ app which helps remind us the washer or dryer is done. Hoping we stay happy for a while.

Buyer beware

This is your 2nd washer. Last one was replaced by GE. Leaked and leaked, ruining our floors . The technician kept trying to fix but was unable to. Could not get Ge repairs to replace had to write letter to BBB. Suggest getting extended warranty after your year is up. Like the capacity and technology, but still nervous about more issues coming. Fingers crossed.
