We decided to purchase the range directly from Frigidaire . Shipping was free and we paid the $50 for installation. We also purchased the propane conversion kit on the same ticket.Although this range does not have a convection oven, Frigidaire does claim and market the model as having "even bake" technology. It was one selling point that swayed our decision to purchase.Oddly when delivered, the installation team said they couldn't install gas stoves. That was frustrating because of my busy work schedule it was worth paying extra for installation so my wife could have a functional stove before I got home. Instead, I stayed up late installing the stove myself and got only a few hours of sleep.Shouldn't the fact that their technicians couldn't install gas ranges been communicated during the online purchase?Our questions arose during the natural gas to propane conversion. When following the step by step instructions for changing the oven element orifice, the directions referenced the removal of a "flame spreader" shroud covering the element. There was NO "flame spreader" shroud present. This same shroud was referenced as an element baffle on the next page.My attempts to find out if this part is missing or not installed on this model have been unsuccessful. Frigidaire customer service, which is obviously and annoyingly contracted out to a foreign country, booked a warranty technician visit. The technician was told nothing about our concern and when he arrived said he couldn't help us. Back to square one.I called Frigidaire customer service back and they had no idea how to help answer my question. They instead instructed me to call a local dealer, which I did, and was also told that there was really nothing they could do to answer my question about the "missing" flame spreader baffle.I'm still trying to get the answer to my question.One more thing. The first time my wife used the oven there was a very strong acrid smell and initial smoking. Nothing was visibly wrong or burning. The smell has since stopped. Perhaps it was a coating on the small electric broiling element?Also, my wife is not convinced about the "even bake" feature after using the oven a few times. Hopefully this is informative.
